Trei culori – Imnul de Stat al Republicii Socialiste Romania
Socialist Republic of Romania Anthem “Tricolorul”
Trei culori cunosc pe lume,
Amintind de-un brav popor,
Ce-i viteaz, cu vechi renume,
În luptă triumfător.
Multe secole luptară
Strabunii noştri eroi,
Să trăim stăpîni în ţară,
Ziditori ai lumii noi.
Roşu, galben şi albastru
Este-al nostru tricolor.
Se inalţă ca un astru
Gloriosul meu popor.
Suntem un popor în lume
Strâns unit şi muncitor,
Liber, cu un nou renume
Şi un ţel cutezător.
Azi partidul ne uneşte
Şi pe plaiul românesc
Socialismul se clădeşte,
Prin elan muncitoresc.
Pentru-a patriei onoare,
Vrăjmaşii-n luptă-i zdrobim.
Cu alte neamuri sub soare,
Demn, în pace, să trăim.
Iar tu, Românie mindră,
Tot mereu să dăinuieşti
Şi în comunista eră
Ca o stea să străluceşti.
Internationala Comunista
Sculaţi, voi oropsiţi ai vieţii,
Voi, osîndiţi la foame, sus!
Să fiarbă-n inimi răzvrătirea,
Să-nceapă al lumii vechi apus!
Sfîrşiţi odată cu trecutul negru,
Sculaţi, popor de osîndiţi!
Azi nu sînteţi nimic în lume,
Luptaţi ca totul voi să fiţi!
Hai la lupta cea mare,
Rob cu rob să ne unim,
Internaţionala
Prin noi s-o făurim!
Sculaţi, nu-i nici o mîntuire
În regi, ciocoi sau dumnezei!
Unire, muncitori, unire,
Şi lumea va scăpa de ei!
Prea mult ne-au despuiat tîlharii
Ce-n lume, lux, desfrîu se scald:
Să ne unim toţi proletarii,
Să batem fierul cît e cald!
Hai la lupta cea mare,
Rob cu rob să ne unim,
Internaţionala
Prin noi s-o făurim!
Ţărani şi muncitori, noi sîntem
Partidul, mare muncitor!
Pămîntul este-al celor harnici,
Cei leneşi plece unde vor!
Cînd vulturi lacomi, corbi de pradă,
N-or mai pluti nori negri-n vînt,
Pe cer luci-va-ntotdeauna
Al înfrăţirii soare sfînt.
Hai la lupta cea mare,
Rob cu rob să ne unim,
Internaţionala
Prin noi s-o făurïm!
1 Mai Muncitoresc
Versurile: Maria Ranteş
Muzica: Ciprian Porumbescu
Rîde iară primăvara,
Peste cîmpuri, peste plai,
Veselia umple ţara,
C-a venit Întîi de Mai!
Muncitorii au pornit
Şi-ntr-un glas s-au înfrăţit!
Şi ei azi sărbătoresc
Unu Mai muncitoresc.
Înfrăţiţi azi cu ţăranii,
Muncitorii-n joc şi cînt,
Prăznui-vor în toţi anii
Libertatea pe pămînt.
Peste mări şi peste ţări,
Se adună pe cărări,
Lumea toată în alai
Pentru al nostru Întîi de Maï.
La multi ani, iubit conducator!
Multumim din inima partidului!
E scris pe tricolor unire
Pe-al nostru steag e scris: UNIRE !
Music by Ciprian Porumbescu, also used for the Albanian National Anthem ! The Song was composed by Ciprian Porumbescu and the lyrics by Andrei Bârseanu for the Union of 1859.
Pe-al nostru steag e scris unire,
Unire-n cuget şi simţiri
Şi sub măreaţa lui umbrire
Vom înfrunta orice loviri.
Acel ce-n luptă grea se teme
Ce singur e rătăcitor,
Iar noi uniţi în orice vreme
Vom fi, vom fi învingători.
Am înarmat a noastră mînă
Ca să păzim un scump pămînt,
Dreptatea e a lui stăpînă,
Iar domn e adevărul sfînt.
Şi-n cartea veşniciei scrie
Că ţări şi neamuri vor pieri,
Dar mîndra noastră Românie
Etern, etern va înflori.
Învingători cu verde laur
Noi fruntea nu ne-o-mpodobim
Nici scumpele grămezi de aur
Drept răsplătire nu dorim.
Ştiind că-n viaţa trecătoare
Eterne fapte-am împlinit
Şi chinul morţii-ngrozitoare
Bogat, bogat e răsplătit.
(C. Porumbescu / A.Barseanu )

Cantece patriotice – Hora Unirii
Hai sa dam mâna cu mâna
Cei cu inima româna,
Sa-nvârtim hora fratiei
Pe pamântul României!
Iarba rea din holde piara!
Piara dusmania-n tara!
Între noi sa nu mai fie
Decât flori si omenie!
Mai muntene, mai vecine,
Vina sa te prinzi cu mine
Si la viata cu unire,
Si la moarte cu-nfratire!
Unde-i unul, nu-i putere
La nevoi si la durere.
Unde-s doi, puterea creste
Si dusmanul nu sporeste!
Amândoi suntem de-o mama,
De-o faptura si de-o seama,
Ca doi brazi într-o tulpina,
Ca doi ochi într-o lumina.
Amândoi avem un nume,
Amândoi o soarta-n lume.
Eu ti-s frate, tu mi-esti frate,
În noi doi un suflet bate!
Vin’ la Milcov cu grabire
Sa-1 secam dintr-o sorbire,
Ca sa treaca drumul mare
Peste-a noastre vechi hotare,
Si sa vada sfântul soare
Într-o zi de sarbatoare
Hora noastra cea frateasca
Pe câmpia româneasca!

IAR 99 Romanian Plane
IAR 99 “Şoim” (Hawk) is a modern advanced jet trainer and light attack aircraft capable of performing close air support and reconnaissance missions. The IAR 99 is intended to replace the Aero L-29 Delfin and L-39 Albatros as trainer from the Romanian Air Force inventory. The aircraft is of semi-monocoque design, with tapered wings and a swept back tail unit. A large blade-type antenna installed beneath the nose on the port side of the fuselage gives the IAR 99 trainer a distinctive appearance.

Romania 1940 vs Kuweit 2001
Operation Tidal Wave was a strategic bombing mission executed by the American Air Forces in August 1943, during World War II intended to put nine Romanian oil refineries around Ploiesti “out of action.”[5] The mission was unsuccessful in that it resulted in “no curtailment of overall product output”[7].
In terms of loss of life, this mission was one of the costliest for the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the European Theatre, accounting for the loss of 53 aircraft and 660 aircrewmen. The day that it took place is known as “Black Sunday.” Five Medals of Honor and numerous Distinguished Service Crosses were awarded to Operation Tidal Wave crew members.

The Romanian Army
The Land Forces, Air Force and Naval Forces of Romania are collectively known as the Romanian Armed Forces (Romanian: Forţele Armate Române or Armata Română) . The current Commander-in-chief is Admiral Gheorghe Marin, managed by the Minister of National Defense, while the president is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces during wartime.
Total defence spending currently accounts for 2.05% of total national GDP, which represents approximately 2.9 billion dollars (ranked 47th). However, the Romanian Armed Forces will spend about 11 billion dollars in the next five years on modernization and acquirement of new equipment. [4]
90,000 men and women currently comprise the Armed Forces, 75,000 of them being military personnel and the other 15,000 civilians. The Land Forces have a reported strength of 45,800, the Air Force 13,250 and the Naval Forces 6,800, while the remaining 8,800 serve in other fields.[5]
The Land Forces have overhauled their equipment in recent years, and are today a modern army with multiple NATO capabilities. They are participating in a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, together with the other NATO countries. The Air Force currently operates modernized Soviet MiG-21 LanceR fighters, which are due to be replaced by the Eurofighter Typhoon, Saab 39 Gripen or F-16 Fighting Falcon by 2010-2012. The Air Force has also ordered 7 new C-27J Spartan tactical airlift aircraft, in order to replace the bulk of the old transport force.[6] Two modernized ex-Royal Navy Type 22 frigates were acquired by the Naval Forces in 2004 and a further four modern missile corvettes will be commissioned in the next few years. Three domestically-produced IAR 330 Puma NAVAL helicopters were also ordered by the Naval Forces, and were commissioned in late 2008.

Romanian Cars History
Much of the Romanian manufacturing industry consists of branch plants of foreign firms, though there are some important domestic manufacturers, such as Dacia Logan, Daewoo, Roman Braşov, Igero bus, Ford, ARO.[1] This has raised several concerns for Romanians. Branch plants provide mainly blue collar jobs, with research and executive positions confined abroad. About half a million cars are produced each year in Romania.
Previously, other manufacturers such as Tractorul Brasov, ARO and Oltcit existed.
Ford bought Automobile Craiova company for $ 57 millions to produce Ford automobiles to a car production estimated to be over 300,000 by 2010.[2][3][4] Ford will invest €675 million (US$923 million) in the former Daewoo car factory. Ford also said it would buy supplies from the Romanian market worth €1 billion (US$1.39 billion).[5]
The Dacia Logan was the top-selling new car in Central and Eastern Europe in the first half of 2007 with 52,750 units sold, ahead of Skoda Fabia (41,227 units), Skoda Octavia (33,483 units),Opel Astra (16,442 units) and Ford Focus (14,909 units), shows a market survey of JATO Dynamics, the leading supplier of automotive market intelligence.[6] Romania lead the regional auto market growth in the first half of 2007, both up 25 percent as against the similar period last year, said the local weekly Capital in its latest issue Wednesday.
Romanian automakers are integrating more telematics products and services into automobiles to make driving more convenient and pleasurable, opening doors for innovative foreign companies.
A growing emphasis on environmental sustainability is generating opportunities for automotive companies whose technologies help reduce the automobile’s impact on the environment.
Consumer demand for increased automotive safety features provides great opportunities for foreign firms as Romanian’s automotive manufacturers shift their focus from reducing damage resulting from accidents to preventing the accidents all together.
As more electronic and information device parts are Integrated into automobiles, foreign companies in related fields can expect to find growing demand for their business in Romania.

The world’s first fountain pen
Petrache Poenaru (1799 – 1875) was a famous Romanian inventor of the Enlightenment era.
Poenaru, who had studied in Paris and Vienna and, later, completed his specialized studies in England, was a mathematician, physicist, engineer, inventor, teacher and organizer of the educational system, as well as a politician, agronomist, and zootechnologist, founder of the Philharmonic Society, the Botanical Gardens and the National Museum of Antiquities in Bucharest.
While a student in Paris, Petrache Poenaru invented the world’s first fountain pen, an invention for which the French Government issued a patent on May 25, 1827.
Poenaru also designed the current tricolour flag of Romania.
